Week 3: Heart: What Are Your Passions?
Heart - What are you passionate about?
Spend some time in pairs or 3s discussing your responses to the self-reflection questions about heart:
What sorts of projects, ministries, ideas, groups of people, needs or causes do you feel God has placed on your heart?
What new thing could you do practically to engage with what God has placed on your heart?
Read John 13:12-17. As a group, discuss:
Do you think Jesus was 'passionate' about foot-washing? In what way?
Is there a lesson in this about what it might look like to follow our heart's passions in serving others?
What do you think is the role of 'following your heart' when it comes to serving God? i.e. When should you do what you're passionate about, and when should you do what you can see needs doing?
Read Psalm 119:30-40
What is the role of prayer in changing our hearts?
What heart-work would you like the Spirit to do in you, that you would love His ways?
Spend some time in quiet personal prayer and reflection, that God would do this heart work in you now.
