Mayfield Baptist Church celebrates a rich history spanning nearly a century, fostering a vibrant, multi-generational community that includes individuals of all ages—from newborns to those over 90. As we look ahead to our 100th anniversary this year, we are excited about the opportunities God has in store for us in this new season.

This structure enhances our mission and vision by harnessing a diverse array of skills and perspectives. Summary of Position

The NextGen Ministry Internship Program is a focused internship crafted for young adults eager to explore and experience the multifaceted nature of church leadership and ministry. The program is a part-time fixed-term program lasting 10-12 months.

 

The program aims to nurture spiritual growth, provide practical ministry exposure, and offer deep theological and biblical training and mentorship. The target audience is Post-High School Young Adults (Aged 17+).

This role includes:

1. Paid Ministry Exposure & Mentorship (8 hours per week)

2. Unpaid (but fully funded) Formal Theological Training (Approx. 4 hours onsite + assignments)

Effectively, this individual serves as a developing ministry leader and student whose main goal is to gain a holistic view of church life and theological foundations.

​

This is recognised as a part-time position of approximately 12 mandatory onsite hours per week during the academic semester (8 paid hours + 4 unpaid academic hours).

  Payment: Interns receive payment at the NSW & ACT Baptist Association Ministry Assistant rate for the 8 hours of weekly practical Ministry Exposure and Mentorship time.

  Fully Funded Training: The cost of the four Certificate in Theology subjects will be fully covered by the church.

•  

  Accommodation Option: Affordable accommodation facilities are available to rent at the standard rate.
